ADG has made a big disclosure regarding the deaths of five people in Chhapra, Bihar. ADG admitted that five people died due to poisonous liquor in Chhapra, Bihar. ADG Amit Kumar Jain said that methyl alcohol (spirit) was found in the liquor samples.
ADG said that methyl alcohol in the liquor was the cause of death. The police have registered a case against a total of 4 people in the matter. 10 accused were named in this incident, out of which six accused have been arrested. Raids are currently being conducted to catch the other accused. The investigation into the poisonous liquor case is ongoing.
ADG provided information about the case
ADG Amit Kumar gave this information on Tuesday (March 17) while answering a question during the press conference. He further said that since the formation of the Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau in September 2025, the seizure of illegal liquor has been continuously increasing. Compared to 2024, an average of 9 percent more liquor per month was seized in 2025, and compared to 2025, an average of 18 percent more liquor per month has been recovered in 2026.
Police seized spirit
After the incident, so far 1050 liters of spirit have been recovered in Panapur, while 650 liters have been recovered in Mashrak. After the Holi celebrations, this poisonous liquor case has once again raised serious questions about the entire system.
